Apex Trader Funding Rules Explained (2026)
Apex Trader Funding ("Apex 4.0") runs a single-step, 30-day futures evaluation across four account sizes, offered in two drawdown variants — EOD Trail and Intraday Trail. Same dollar numbers per size, genuinely different risk mechanics.

How Apex's drawdown works
EOD Trail: your floor trails 4%–2.67% (depending on size) below your highest end-of-day closing balance — intraday spikes don't count, only where you close each day. This variant pairs with a soft daily loss limit: hit it and trading pauses for the rest of the day, but your account survives.
Intraday Trail: the same percentages, but the floor trails your live unrealized equity peak instead — a big intraday high can raise your floor even on a day you close flat or slightly down. There's no daily loss limit at all on this variant, soft or otherwise, so the entire risk constraint is the (harsher) trailing drawdown itself.
Notes & unconfirmed details
- The funded (PA) phase — activation fee, contract caps, a 50% consistency rule, and the payout ladder — is not modeled here; this page covers the evaluation phase only.

What's the difference between Apex's EOD Trail and Intraday Trail evaluations?
The dollar target and drawdown amounts are identical per account size, but the drawdown measurement differs. EOD Trail only tracks your end-of-day closing balance, so intraday spikes don't move the floor. Intraday Trail tracks your live unrealized equity peak, so a big intraday high can raise your floor even if you close the day flat. The EOD variant also carries a soft daily loss limit; the Intraday variant has no daily loss limit at all.
What does a soft daily loss limit mean on Apex's EOD variant?
Hitting it pauses your trading for the rest of that day — it does not fail your account. It's a guardrail, not an elimination rule, unlike a normal (hard) daily loss limit.
Is there a time limit on an Apex Trader Funding evaluation?
Yes — 30 days, on both the EOD Trail and Intraday Trail variants, across all four account sizes.
